SRA Supports Street-Based People Initiative
The Swakopmund Residents Association (SRA) is actively involved in supporting the Street-Based People (SBP) initiative. This initiative aims to secure funding for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Coastal Community Youth Faculty together with the Local Christian Community to provide essential services to individuals living on the streets.
Alignment with “Don’t Give Change, Be the Change” Campaign:
The SRA’s efforts align with the “Don’t Give in the Streets” campaign, which encourages responsible giving and supports sustainable solutions for addressing homelessness. By providing funding to NGOs and CCYF, the SRA is helping to ensure that these organizations can continue to offer vital services such as shelter, food, and counseling to individuals in need.
Call for Expressions of Interest:
The SBP committee is seeking expressions of interest from individuals or organizations interested in contributing to the House of Safety project. This project aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for street-based people. Those interested in participating should submit their expressions of interest to the SBP committee.
The SRA’s involvement in the SBP initiative demonstrates its commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable individuals in the community. By working together with NGOs, CCYF, and other stakeholders, the SRA is making a positive impact on the lives of street-based people in Swakopmund.
